Don't Settle!
Breaking Dormancy.
Dead Light Bearer,
In sequel to my previous mail, I would be sharing another thing I learned about seeds that can be related to your spiritual growth.
Apparently, seeds are very amazing little things, well not all seeds are small. But half the time they are almost disregarded as inconsequential, because of their size, but they are not.
Imagine a hardworking vinedresser, just like the one from my last mail, after the difficulty he faced to first prune this tree so that it can bear fruit, After a tree has been pruned and has eventually borne fruit, there's always a seed buried somewhere inside the fruit. After eating the fruit this farmer decided to plant this seed so he can have another fruit to fall back on, but the seed had other plans of its own. This seed refused to grow. I can only imagine the pain in the heart of this vinedresser as he goes back to check each day and discovers that it is still not growing.
The inability of this seed to grow by itself is known as Seed Dormancy.
When a seed is dormant, the vinedresser would have to put in some/ a lot effort to scratch the surface/ peel off the protective coat so that this seed can grow. That process is known as breaking dormancy.
Breaking dormancy is stressful for both the vinedresser and the seed itself, as it would require lots of effort and energy to get into the core where growth can then happen. It may not be as painful as the pruning, but it does require lots of effort.
What God opened my eyes to is that dormancy doesn't only happen in seeds, it happens in humans as well. Sometimes we wear a protective coat, and are unwilling to explore all the greatness God has deposited inside of us, we are unwilling to do more with what we already have. Even after pruning, and we start to bear fruits, why do we sometimes limit ourselves to primary fruiting? Why do we get so satisfied with seemingly little results?
God’s design is that you be fruitful, but how can that be when you are scared to launch out? Scripture says to stir up the gift within us. Maybe the fear of the gravity/ weight of the assignment is what’s holding you back from giving it your all, trust me I understand how it feels. Like someone I know would say “If it does not scare you maybe it is not God”. One of my Fathers in the Lord once told me that “God’s assignments are God sized. And because God is big don’t expect His assignment to be otherwise.”
Trust me God knows what He is sending you to do may be demanding or tasking, He never even said it was going to be easy, He only said He would help you through it. So trust Him, He that has promised is faithful.
Put in the effort, and make the sacrifices. Come out of complacency, there is no room for mediocrity in God. I know you are scared and you have your doubts, but do not let that steal your joy from you, the joy of hearing a well-done faithful servant. Don’t be like Alakori (the one talent guy in Matthew 25:24), put to use what He has entrusted to your care.
Write that book now, launch that podcast, take that course now, apply for that job, and share that business idea, break that dormancy. Start where you are. God will send help, I promise. I don’t know when or how, but trust Him, He will hold your hands and help you. It's almost a new year, you cannot afford to hold back again.
The good news is that dormancy is not the end of it for any seed. A dormant seed only needs an extra effort or push from something external, maybe that's why God brought this mail your way. After the extra push it needs to do the personal work of pushing through the barriers in it's mind by Faith. It is not too late to allow God help you break out into the fullness of all He has given you.
The secret to breaking dormancy in this kingdom is Faith. It is Faith that will make you believe whatever words I am writing to you about how you can do so much for God. So my dear friend, launch out in Faith!
I love you and I am rooting for you!
Yours-in-love,
Mo, The Light Bearer 🤍✨
