Wait Mo, what happened to your newsletter? You still have it, right??
Mo, where is our newsletter? Are you still writing?
If you don’t write a mail today we will only talk for fifteen minutes henceforth. (face smacks)
Have you finished the newsletter? Wait, have you even started writing it?
From genuine concerns to lowkey threats -from my guys- I have had people come to question me about The Lightbearer Newsletter.
I mean I was answering questions like;
Mo, where did you go to? Easy peasy, I didn’t actually go anywhere, I was here, busy. And if you follow my social media, you probably know by now that I started a merch store sometime in July.
Was that why you abandoned the newsletter? For goodness sake, I didn’t abandon this newsletter, I even named the store after it. The Light Bearer Shirts.
Okay, let’s be serious.
Earlier this year when I wrote out my goals and shared them with my core members, this newsletter was at the top, and if you ask me, I think I was doing pretty well and was dedicated to it. I even took a writing course somewhere in between. Well, that was until God somehow intercepted my plans and instructed me to start TLB Shirts as I had stalled for too long.
A little back story, about two years ago, in 2021, God spoke to me about starting a Christian merch store, but business was not what I wanted to venture into. In 2021 if you had asked me what I wanted to do, I would have insisted that I was going to be an Optometrist, but then God happened.
In 2022, if you asked me what I wanted to do, I would have told you TECH!!! UX writing, Branding, and Designs were all fascinating to me. Of course, I would still explore them, maybe later, but definitely not now.
Right now, in 2023, I’m doing business, and my interest in my course of study –Environmental Sciences– is piquing, amongst many other things.
In February, I remember writing you a mail telling you about how God can intercept a man’s plan. Like Yvonne Orji, it is safe to say that I have been bamboozled by Jesus once again. Because why am I now designing and selling tee shirts that scream JESUS??? Don’t ask me sha, I don’t know either.
Well, this mail is not to bore you with details about how I started my brand and all of that cliche stuff, but to keep you up to date with where I’ve been, and to also encourage you to follow God as He leads you. And also, because I miss writing to you.
There’s a common saying among the Yorubas whenever they want to give ‘moral support’ that “ma sin e de ibi ti eru o ti ni ba e” which when directly translated means “I will escort you to the point where you won’t be afraid.
But you see, the beautiful thing about God is that He will not only see you to a point, He will see you through it to the very end.
Everything God is asking me to do and entrusting onto my care, I don’t have them all figured out. I’m learning to live a day and instruction at a time.
And here’s a reminder for someone battling with obeying an instruction from God, you have not come this far with God for Him to leave you be by yourself. Trust God, if He is sending you, He will sponsor and support you.
Now, this does not directly mean that funds will miraculously come, nahh. Obey God first, every other thing you need will surely come. It won’t be all rosy, but keep doing your best and giving it your all.
Dear Light Bearer, I may not see you, but Jesus does, and just as He is cheering you on, so am I. God is your strength.
Enter into this last quarter knowing that there’s so much you can do and so much you will do.
Here is to seeing more of my face this Q3. 🥂😉
Until then, go back to your goal book, go back to God, and get instructions to run with.
Yours-in-love,
Mo, The Light Bearer. ✨🤍
